The Tunes
If you take it down and
strip all the meat, pare it down to the bones... what you are left
with is hardly worth eating, or playing. That 'simple melody' would
be easy to play, but not worth playing. It would not fill the stomach.
It would be like feeding baby food to an old man.
In Chris' opinion, musicians who
limit their playing, thinking written settings sacrosanct, are not
doing justice to the tradition.
